I've seen some threads about this issue, but nothing that has helped me.
I have a 32-bit VM as my vCenter server (with 4GB of RAM). Every day (sometimes more than once), vpxd will consume enough of the memory that SCOM alerts us (% available memory too low). Eventually (~30 minutes), vpxd gives back some memory and the SCOM alert closes. As far as I can tell, tomcat is not causing any problems.
I verified that there aren't a particularly high number of connections to vCenter (fewer than a dozen).
We have a project plan to upgrade to 5.1, but it's going to be a while. Any thoughts on tuning the process's memory utilization?
Thanks.
