Esxi 5.1, VMFS 5 Recovery tips needed

hi,

New to this forum, any tips for getting access to vmfs5 datastores on healthy physical disks appreciated.

What happened:

- server1: ML350 broke down; continuously resets in less than 10 minutes; ML350 motherboard/chassis cannot be used for any recovery actions anymore due to time available before reset; something shorts on that mobo

- It contains  6 x 1TB physical disks split to 3 x Raid1 volumes and layout is more or less:

Raid volume1: Disk1, Disk2; Esxi 5.1 boot OS partitions + Datastore1

Raid volume2: Disk3, Disk4 with Datastore2

Raid volume3: Disk5, Disk6 with Datastore3

What I have

- server2, another HP server to which I can connect physical disks from server1

What I can do:

- Disk1 of server1 boots Esxi 5.1 fine on Server2 but without mounting the Datastore1 which is on it

- it seems that i don't know how to manually mount ..

What have I tried so far

- Relocated physical disk 1 from server1 to server 2

- booted with Live CD by Continuum: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1877235#1877235

     - it does not mount the vmfs / datastores automatically for viewing.. for some reason I dunno

- Currently running DiskInternals VMFS recovery utility in Trial mode for Disk3 i.e the first disk of Raid volume2, which contains Datastore2 with Guest VM directories

- Elapsed time 1:45 so far; 4 folders found with 31486 files

Any idea what I will see with Diskinternasl vmfs recovery trial mode utility?

- I'd like to see the guest vm folders with vmdks inside not the contents of the vmdk files like i'm now expecting..

br, Veehar
