Geez, not my week with the VMs. I had a Windows 8 64bit VM open when my computer decided to shut off. After a reboot, I tried to start that VM and got this message:
Windows 8 x64 - VMWare Workstation
Failed to lock the file.
Cannot open the disk 'G:\VM Installs\Windows 8 x64-000011.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
I ran the v7.1 vdiskmanager on it, but got no message about the result, but now when I try to start the VM, I get the error below. Problem is, since the VM is in a supspended state, I can't access the machine settings to adjust it. Tried rebooting the host machine, but no luck. Ugh. Attached is the first 1028 desc.txt.
Thanks,
tim

Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.
To fix this problem, increase the amount of physical memory for all virtual machines to 1227 MB or adjust the additional memory settings to allow more virtual machine memory to be swapped.
It is possible that native applications and/or services have locked down memory which could be preventing the virtual machine from launching. Shutting down unnecessary applications or services may free enough memory to launch this virtual machine.
If you were able to power on this virtual machine on this host computer in the past, try rebooting the host computer. Rebooting may allow you to use slightly more host memory to run virtual machines.
